Van Accessible Parking allows room for people to load or unload a wheelchair, scooter, walker or similar device that is used to transport a person who has limited or no use of his or her legs. Parking spaces are marked and reserved for vehicles that have a state-issued or campus-issued hangtag. Accessible parking spaces for cars have at least a 60-inch-wide access aisle located adjacent to the designated parking space. At least one of every six accessible parking spaces needs to be van-accessible. Accessible parking is available in nearly all lots on the Auraria Campus. So, for example, if there are 45 parking spaces, there need to be two ADA spaces, one can be a regular ADA space, and one will need to be a van accessible space.
